We're seeking a future team member for the role of Oracle Server Database Production Support to join our Technology Engineering Group team. This role is located in Lake Mary, Florida or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years of related infrastructure experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years managing Oracle platforms, with responsibility for 100+ database servers and very large (over 10 TB) databases.
  • Experience managing Oracle Exadata, RAC, ASM, Dataguard and Goldengate.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting and SQL/PLSQL coding skills.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM tools for database management.
  • Additional experience with other database platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administration of Oracle (Oracle 19) multitenant databases across all business lines, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery, database cloning, space management and routine maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with application teams to analyze query performance. Work on strategies for improving SQL performance including analyzing execution plans and creating indexing strategies. Advise on partitioning strategies for large data sets.
  • Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Dataguard and Goldengate ensuring minimal replication lag, guiding secondary read-only usage, and handling planned/unplanned switchovers.
  • Configure privileges and roles to enforce least privilege access for applications and users.
  • Lead schema change processes using automation tools like GitLab and Liquibase, including rollback procedures.
  • Utilize Large Language Models (e.g., ChatGPT) to troubleshoot and manage complex Oracle issues.
  • A working knowledge of Linux OS fundamentals and shell scripting is required.
  • Experience with other data platforms (PostgreSQL, Snowflake, MongoDB) and Cloud services such as Azure is a plus.
