What You Will Get To Do: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle / Postgres Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our critical database systems. This role is essential for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our data, supporting the core operations of DST Health Solutions.

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle and PostgreSQL database software.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize queries, indexes, and overall system efficiency.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and recovery procedures.
  • Manage database security, including user access, roles, and permissions, in compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and data integrity problems.
  • Develop and implement database-level replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database schemas and assist with query optimization.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical database support.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices for Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrable experience with PostgreSQL administration, including replication (e.g., streaming replication), partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and database scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Experience with database backup and recovery strategies and tools (e.g., RMAN for Oracle, pg_dump/pg_restore for Postgres).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
