About The Position

This is a 6-month contract position for an Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer with the Virginia Information Technology Agency. The role involves designing and managing Oracle OCI environments, including database, middleware, and infrastructure components. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services, configuring Oracle WebLogic Server, and executing database upgrades, migrations, and conversions. The engineer will also implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN, ensure high availability and disaster recovery, and optimize database performance. Automation of routine tasks using shell scripting and Ansible, collaboration with development and DevOps teams, proactive issue resolution, and documentation of best practices are also part of the role. The position is offered through Tri-Force Consulting Services, an MBE/SDB certified IT Consulting firm specializing in IT staffing, software development, systems integration, data analytics, system automation, cybersecurity, and cloud technology solutions for government and commercial clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage Oracle OCI environments, including database, middleware, and infrastructure components
  • Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services
  • Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server and related technologies
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversions
  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and other tools
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing tuning recommendations
  • Implement and automate routine tasks using shell scripting and tools like Ansible
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless application deployment
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, providing timely support
  • Document and train on best practices for Oracle OCI environment management
