MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As an Oracle EBS SME, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USPS. You will play a crucial role in optimizing the business functions at USPS. We are seeking a seasoned Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. This candidate will play a critical role in Oracle eBusiness Suite implementations, application support, and problem resolution. The SME will manage mission-critical technical and functional efforts, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with USPS policies and delivery frameworks.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred. Alternative Path: If the candidate does not possess a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience will be required.
  • Required Experience: Minimum of 20+ years of experience
  • Required Technical Skills and Expertise: Enterprise Architecture Proven ability to design scalable on-premises application infrastructure, with expertise in server architecture, ASM/NAS/SAN storage sizing, and system optimization. Skilled in DevOps practices to streamline software delivery and operations.
  • Oracle EBS Full Lifecycle Strong background in full lifecycle implementations and upgrades, minimizing RICE development by utilizing COTS functionality. Expert in Oracle PL/SQL, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivables (AR), and General Ledger (GL).
  • Project and Functional Leadership Expertise in translating business requirements into Agile user stories. History of leading large cross-functional teams, ensuring on-time and budget-compliant project delivery.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance Advanced skills in configuration and performance tuning. Expert knowledge in scheduling jobs, resolving constraints/errors, analyzing logs, and ensuring system performance.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills Rapidly analyze complex business requirements and deliver actionable insights. Recognized for decisive problem-solving and leadership to drive momentum in stalled projects.
  • System Documentation Ability to update configuration diagrams, prepare configuration documents, and maintain software documentation.
  • Tool Proficiency Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and tools like VersionOne. Proficient in IT Service Management Systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Security Clearance Level: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Oracle eBusiness Suite Expertise: Leverage in-depth knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite modules: Purchasing (PO), Accounts Receivables (AR), Accounts Payables (AP), Fixed Assets (FA), Project Accounting (PA), and General Ledger (GL).
  • NAOFA Project Leadership: Lead NAOFA project teams to develop, manage, and deliver critical project tasks.
  • Customer Collaboration: Prepare and deliver presentations for senior executives, directors, and customers; facilitate effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Technical Leadership: Take on advanced technical issues, guide project teams in AI, VersionOne, and ALM usage, and ensure timely problem resolution.
  • Incident Management: Respond promptly to ServiceNow incidents; provide expert diagnosis and repair of system problems.
  • Configuration and Documentation: Provide configuration documents, create time-sensitive deliverables, and update system configuration diagrams and related documentation.
  • Sustainability and Support: Enhance, support, and develop production-level applications, while adhering to the USPS secure coding practices and delivery frameworks.
  • Flexible Performance Hours: Perform essential tasks at nights, weekends, or on holidays based on USPS requirements.
  • Agile Methodologies: Utilize iterative development methodologies and participate in Agile ceremonies to improve project delivery and collaboration.
  • USPS Business Processes: Acquire comprehensive knowledge of USPS system environments and associated business processes.
  • On-Call Support: Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed for production systems and critical tasks.
  • Leadership and mentorship skills to build and guide high-performing teams.
  • Ability to streamline processes, reduce complexity, and prioritize scalable solutions.
  • Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, delivering strategic decisions, and aligning IT strategies with business goals.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills for collaboration across disciplines.
