About The Position

The Operating Room Video Integration Specialist plays a critical role in supporting safe, efficient, and technologically advanced surgical care at Meritus Health. This position is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of integrated audiovisual (AV) and surgical video systems within operating rooms and procedural areas. The specialist ensures seamless functionality of video routing, recording, streaming, and display systems to support clinical procedures, education, and documentation. Working closely with surgeons, perioperative staff, and clinical engineering teams, this role requires strong technical expertise, calm problem‑solving under pressure, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced surgical environment. Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, Audio‑Visual Technology, or a related field
  • Equivalent experience may be considered
  • 2–5 years of experience in AV integration, healthcare technology, or surgical/OR environments
  • Strong knowledge of video systems, including HD/4K signal flow, switching, and encoding/decoding
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure, fast‑paced surgical environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical and technical teams
  • Adaptability, responsiveness, and calm problem‑solving during live procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OR integration platforms (Stryker, Karl Storz, Olympus) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and support integrated OR video and AV systems
  • Ensure reliable video routing, recording, streaming, and display functionality during surgical procedures
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues in real time within high‑pressure clinical environments
  • Support OR integration platforms (e.g., Stryker, Karl Storz, Olympus) and related hardware/software
  • Maintain HD/4K video signal flow, switching, encoding/decoding, and system connectivity
  • Collaborate with surgeons, OR staff, IT, and clinical engineering teams to resolve issues and optimize workflows
  • Perform routine system checks, preventative maintenance, and equipment readiness assessments
  • Assist with upgrades, installations, and configuration of new AV/video systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and support documentation needs for clinical procedures
  • Provide responsive support during surgical schedules, including on‑call needs
