About The Position

The Operating Room (OR) Technician is a non-certified position within Franciscan that performs various tasks supporting perioperative services, including preparation of operating room, transport of patients, supplies, equipment, and specimens. This position assists Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Registered Nurses, and other members of an operating room team by preparing patients for their procedures, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining environmental cleanliness before, during and after surgical procedures. This position, also, provides technical assistance to the surgeon by passing instruments, ensuring the functioning of instruments, and keeping instruments free of debris during surgical procedures. The Operating Room Technician monitors the patient's vitals during surgical procedures. Assist patients to maximize comfort in a caring, respectful manner. Respond to patient requests as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program
