Responsibilities

  • Prepare the OR by ensuring proper room setup, equipment readiness, and sterile technique for each procedure.
  • Support the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies promptly and accurately, while maintaining strict counts and sterility.
  • Assist with patient positioning, draping, specimen labeling, and intraoperative documentation, always prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with circulating nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs, troubleshoot equipment issues, and adapt to rapid changes during procedures.
  • Participate in OR turnover processes to help minimize downtime between cases, contributing to improved unit efficiency.
  • Seek opportunities to expand your expertise across specialties, while staying aligned with facility protocols and professional standards.
