OR Surgical Technologist Intern (STI) - SC, Beaufort - Job
About The Position
JOB SUMMARY: The surgical technologist intern is a member of the surgical team who works closely with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetist, and registered nurse in delivery of patient care pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively. Acts in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards as prescribed by the Governing Board, Hospital Administration and Patient Care Services of Beaufort Memorial Hospital. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Acceptance in Beaufort Memorial's PATH program for OR Technology. Completion of didactic portion of Medcerts TS-C program. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE: Completion of 30 OR clinical cases where applicant will first scrub with at least 4 different specialties represented. Recommendation from PATH Faculty. EXPERIENCE: Entry level position
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with all staff.
- Demonstrate good problem solving skills.
- Strong organizations skills and effective time management.
- BLS required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association)
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Acceptance in Beaufort Memorial's PATH program for OR Technology.
- Completion of didactic portion of Medcerts TS-C program.
- Completion of 30 OR clinical cases where applicant will first scrub with at least 4 different specialties represented.
- Recommendation from PATH Faculty.
