Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties. The OR Scrub Technician is primarily responsible for scrubbing on surgical procedures in all specialties performed in the Perioperative area. This individual shall function as a member of the surgical team. The Scrub Technician shall be responsible for setting up assigned cases, maintaining a sterile field, and counting appropriate items with circulating nurse used during surgical cases. This position requires an understanding of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization. Additionally, this individual shall perform a variety of tasks such as care of instruments, supplies, sutures, needles, and basic equipment, as well as stocking, cleaning, and inventory. The Scrub Technician must know policies and procedures pertaining to duties and be able to fulfill verbal and written instructions. This individual will strictly adhere to all OSHA guidelines, safety, and infection control policies. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.
