As a team member, you help fulfill our mission to make life better here for our community. The Perioperative Services Scheduler receives and enters provider requests accurately and efficiently. They clearly communicate information to perioperative services staff as required to ensure the integrity of the surgery schedule. This function is the beginning of patient care and critically impacts surgeons, anesthesia, staff and most importantly the patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fluent in English
• PC literate
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Ability to meet physical demands as stated in 'Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions'

Nice To Haves

• Medical Terminology
• BLS Certification

Responsibilities

• Receive information via fax, electronic file or phone and input to computer so all critical information is transmitted and communicated correctly helping to ensure best possible patient outcome
• Work with office staff to ensure accurate information is provided in the most effective manner when scheduling cases
• Provide procedure time information to the OR Supervisor, team leads and others requiring scheduling information
• Work with Pre-Anesthesia Screening Services Staff to schedule appointments
• Maintain scheduling strips on the 'Schedule Board' to ensure all information is accurate
• Implement SJRMC’s Service Standards into daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
• Other duties as assigned
