The Department of Orthopedics is seeking an OR Scheduler (Support Services Specialist) to p rovide services related to access, scheduling, and support to assure effective and efficient delivery of health care services striving toward an excellent patient experience. Duties include: Analyze Orthopedic OR allocations daily, monitoring room utilization, and make recommendations to senior Ortho leaders on ways to improve this. Maintain Epic room assignments. Constant communication between faculty offices on available OR time and offering time to others to fill any unused time. Train all new Admin Services Coordinators on all aspects of scheduling their faculty surgeries and departmental guidelines regarding room utilization. This includes updating Epic, relaying information to Pre-Access for insurance authorization and communicating with faculty offices. Educate new faculty on OR departmental guidelines. Assist with any performance improvement initiatives. Responsible for working through the Ortho deficiency work queue. Open communication with all OR locations, their schedulers, and OR staff. Monitor secure chats, epic inboxes, among others for OR related issues.
