About The Position

The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for delivering and documenting patient care during the intra-operative period, ensuring quality surgical care while adhering to safety and procedural guidelines. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and effective communication with patients, families, and medical staff.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current State RN license.
• Current CPR licensure.
• Current ACLS certification preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years peri-operative experience, preferably in a multi-specialty ambulatory setting.
• Prior knowledge of surgical instrumentation and peri-operative equipment or ability to learn.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and document patient care during the intra-operative period.
• Assess patients' physiological and emotional needs and plan nursing care accordingly.
• Participate in quality assurance monitoring and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care.
• Act as a resource person to other staff in keeping with the teamwork philosophy.
• Adhere to OSHA guidelines for Universal Precautions and use appropriate PPE.
• Participate in the orientation of new employees and students.
• Complete patient charting accurately and promptly.
• Communicate appropriate information to surgeons and anesthesiologists regarding patient care.
• Interact positively and supportively with patients and their families.
• Attend and participate in in-service programs and staff meetings.
• Initiate and participate in patient and family education.

Benefits

• Per diem pay at $35.50 an hour.
