About The Position

In this role you will be: Monitoring daily OR schedule to proactively identify and address potential delays or barriers to case flow. Collaborating with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure on-time starts and efficient room turnovers. Communicating real-time updates on case progress, readiness status, and staffing needs to charge nurses and leadership. Coordinating availability of instruments, equipment, and implants to support scheduled procedures. Assisting with prioritization and assignment of surgical cases to optimize use of rooms and resources. Supporting sterile processing and materials management to ensure quick turnaround of trays and necessary supplies. Acting as a clinical resource for perioperative staff to troubleshoot workflow challenges and assist as needed in patient care. Participating in daily huddles and contributing to continuous process improvement efforts related to efficiency and throughput. Gathering data on case start times, turnover intervals, and delays to identify trends and recommend corrective actions. Collaborating with educators and managers to reinforce best practices and promote team accountability for efficiency goals. Promoting a positive work environment by facilitating effective communication and cooperation among all surgical team members. Ensuring patient safety and adherence to all applicable policies, standards, and regulations (AORN, CIHQ, CMS).

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN required or willingness to obtain within 3-5 years of hire.
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3-5 years of perioperative nursing experience.
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current license as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
