OR Instrument Tech - Prairie Star Surgery Center
About The Position
The OR Instrument Room Tech is responsible for the decontamination, assembly and sterilization of surgical instrumentation for the main or, labor and delivery, C-section and all of our offsite clinics. Cleaning and distribution of Patient Care equipment, obtaining and tracking of rental equipment, cleaning and sterilization of all vendor instruments. Communicating with the OR staff to help with instrument turnovers, conflicts etc. Assists the OR staff with patient positioning and transporting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certification obtained through IAHCSMM or CBSPD required within 1 year of employment
- Able to accurately identify instruments
- Ability to operate Steam Sterilizers
- Ability to operate Washer Disinfector
- Accurately read and document Biological results.
- Properly clean patient care equipment
Responsibilities
- Assembles and accurately arranges instrument trays.
- Sterilizes instruments following established protocols.
- Returns sterile instruments to their designated locations.
- Stocks and maintains patient care equipment.
- Manages the decontamination process for surgical instruments.
