About The Position

The OR Instrument Room Tech is responsible for the decontamination, assembly and sterilization of surgical instrumentation for the main operating room, labor and delivery, C-section, and all of our offsite clinics. This role includes cleaning and distribution of Patient Care equipment, obtaining and tracking rental equipment, and cleaning and sterilization of all vendor instruments. The technician will communicate with the OR staff to assist with instrument turnovers and conflicts, and will also assist the OR staff with patient positioning and transporting.

Requirements

• High School Grad or Equivalent Required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained through the American Heart Association Required

Responsibilities

• Assembles and accurately arranges instrument trays.
• Sterilizes instruments following established protocols.
• Returns sterile instruments to their designated locations.
• Stocks and maintains patient care equipment.
• Manages the decontamination process for surgical instruments.
