The Operating Room, Environmental Service Assistant performs miscellaneous tasks related to patient transportation and basic operating room functions Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: • Ensure proper cleaning, preparation and setup of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment to be used during surgery • Transport patients between care units, when needed • Properly handle transporting and disposition of specimens and cultures • Obtain blood products from Transfusion Services and responsible for return of unused products • Assist staff with room turnover • Operation of assigned cleaning machines and/or equipment • Performs duties required for cleaning between cases, including removal of trash and soiled linens, cleaning furniture, making beds, cleaning floors, and light/socket covers in an efficient and timely manner • All other assigned duties related to attending the operating room
