About The Position

UnaSource Surgery Center is currently hiring a full time OR Coordinator to join our fast paced Center. The position regularly communicates internally and externally with physicians, team members and vendors; and is expected to promote positive personal relationships and maintains exceptional patient and physician satisfaction. OR Coordinator provides information that supports Center leadership, revenue cycle and materials management. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, responsibility, and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Effectively work as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
  • Proficient use of telephones, fax machines, copiers and other office equipment.
  • Familiarity with technology and a willingness to expand knowledge base
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to demonstrate high quality customer service.
  • High level of attention to detail and organization.
  • High school diploma or equivalency required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility preferred

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits a cooperative and team approach toward patients, team members, physicians and all other agencies and individuals. Consistently behaves in a professional manner.
  • Assists with additional assignments as needed within the operating room, medical records, scheduling and patient care services.
  • Demonstrates ethical and appropriate behavior for a clinical environment to include, but not limited to, dignity, patient’s rights, privacy and the maintenance of confidentiality of patient information.
  • Notifies team members, physicians and outside vendors of adjustments in the OR schedule.
  • Reviews clinical documentation for accuracy, errors and omissions.
  • Transposes data from paper medical records into Center’s computer software systems.
  • Maintains accurate data in the Center’s software programs by regularly updating information as needed (supplies, costs, procedures).
  • Periodically audits work.
  • Communicates with leadership, nursing staff, and materials management regarding questions on charges, items used or documentation.
  • Prepare documentation of implants and invoices for billing and coding.
  • Retrieves and files medical records as necessary.
  • Orders supplies as needed.
  • Adheres to department policies and procedures regarding performance, conduct, confidentiality and customer service.
  • Maintains current and up to date skills in the use and application of all available tools and technology that enhance and optimize productivity.
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with team members & customers.
  • Recognizes the importance of developing relationships with physicians, team members and leadership as crucial to the success as an individual, team and center.
