Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
HEARTSAVER - American Heart Association
Ability to comprehend verbal instructions given in English.
Ability to read, write, understand, and effectively communicate in English with minimal mental application performing repetitive tasks and duties.
Excellent customer services skills required.
Ability to organize and complete tasks.

Nice To Haves

Neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient/customers (work experience)

Responsibilities

Cleans and maintains operating rooms before and after surgical procedures.
Maintains cleaning solutions and cleaning equipment.
Transports pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric patients, both inpatients & outpatients, to and from surgical suites, Pre-op Holding, EPOH and CVICU areas.
Transports requested items, such as blood, x-rays, pharmacy items, SPD items, charts, records and equipment between departments and surgical units; transports requested supplies in a timely, accurate manner.
Participates in CIP, Quality Improvement and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure that hospital, DNV and other quality standards are met.
Maintains principles of aseptic technique according to hospital policy and procedure and AORN standards.
Maintains and stores equipment in a clean/safe condition.
Stocks and maintains the proper par levels of various supplies such as blankets, brushes, etc., in the assigned surgical unit.
Recognizes and responds appropriately to environmental safety factors.
Performs other job functions.
