About The Position

The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams for Acuity Eyecare Group, focusing on patient care and education. This role aims to build long-term patient relationships while practicing to the full capacity of their license. The optometrist will also support practice growth through patient loyalty and adherence to the values of Acuity Eyecare Group.

Requirements

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams for patients.
• Establish long-term patient relationships through proper care and education.
• Perform verbal interviews with patients to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, and visual wants and needs.
• Instruct, recommend, and advise patients on options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular diseases, as well as visual wants and needs.
• Hand-off patients to support staff with recap discussions.
• Generate patient loyalty and promote the profession of Optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
• Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer patients to other healthcare providers.
• Promote eye health by counseling patients on contact lens care and eye examination frequency.
