About The Position

The Optometric Offices of Dr. Carlyle Haywood, located in Troy and Rockingham, North Carolina, are thriving multi-location practices committed to delivering compassionate, expert, and comprehensive eye care. Due to high demand and a current six-month wait time for new patients, the practice is seeking to add a dynamic Associate Optometrist to its team. As the only optometric and ophthalmic facility in Troy and the entire county of 26,000 residents, the practice provides comprehensive eye care with a strong emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. With a commitment to innovation, the team continues to look ahead by planning to incorporate remote services and advanced technology, including an ultra-wide retinal camera, to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care. What you'll do: As an Associate Optometrist, you will provide comprehensive optometric care, which includes performing thorough eye exams, diagnosing and treating various eye conditions and diseases, and managing patients with specialized needs such as scleral contact lenses. Utilizing advanced technology like Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), a Visual Field Analyzer, and retinal photography, you will deliver precise care to each patient. Additionally, you will represent the practice and the profession of optometry within the community by participating in health fairs, serving on the county board of health, and engaging in civic activities. You can expect to see between 14 and 24 patients daily while working approximately 40-50 hours per week, depending on your schedule.
