About The Position

Northern Ave Eye Care in Phoenix, Arizona, is a growing practice seeking a skilled part-time optometrist to join its dedicated team. The practice is known for delivering personalized, high-quality eye care in a welcoming environment that values all patients. This is an excellent opportunity for an optometrist who is interested in building a long-term career in a supportive, community-focused setting. Why join us? Northern Ave Eye Care has been transforming patient experiences for more than 30 years, providing life-changing vision care that blends medical precision with boutique-level service. The practice is supported by a highly skilled team of four professionals, many of whom trained under Art Epstein and bring extensive expertise in specialty contact lenses, ocular surface disease, and medical eye care. While the practice currently focuses on routine vision services, it is well-positioned for growth in areas such as scleral lens fittings and glaucoma management. The team of skilled and empathetic professionals are dedicated to placing the well-being of their patients above all else. What you'll do: As the newest Optometrist on the team, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while helping the practice continue to grow. You’ll perform comprehensive exams, manage ocular diseases, prescribe corrective lenses and advanced technologies, educate patients, maintain accurate records, and build lasting relationships. You’ll bring strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a passion for personalized care, all while working in a supportive environment. You’ll have access to advanced diagnostic tools like visual field testing, with the opportunity to add even more technology as the practice expands. With a manageable schedule of about 16 patients per day, you’ll start at nine hours weekly, move up to 15 hours after 90 days, and have the potential to transition into a full-time role in the future. Who you are: You are a passionate and dedicated individual committed to providing exceptional eye care and up to the challenge of growing an established practice into the next generation of products and services. You hold a valid Arizona optometry license and consider yourself a self-starter that’s capable of identifying issues before they become problems and taking initiative to solve them. You are also highly skilled in handling a diverse range of patients with varying visual needs and age groups. The ideal candidate possesses some expertise in medical and specialty lenses and is eager to stay current with the latest developments in optometry. You should also excel at creating personalized treatment plans, which contribute to the practice's growth and strengthen its reputation as a community leader. Why you'll love Phoenix: Known as the "Valley of the Sun," Phoenix is located in Arizona's central region, conveniently situated 20 minutes west of Tempe and 20 minutes southwest of Scottsdale. Year-round sun, scenic desert landscapes, world-class resorts, golf, and a prosperous economy describe the vibrant region—the fifth-largest city in the nation. Phoenix delivers the opportunity for relaxed and convenient living and offers perfect recreational adventures such as cycling, hiking, horseback riding, and bird watching. While Phoenix is in the Sonoran Desert, there are six lakes in proximity for water lovers to kayak, paddleboard, ski, boat, fish, or relax on the shore. The city is also rich in diversity and offers many unique cultural assets—plus, the town city offers safe neighborhoods, excellent schools, and a beautiful place to raise a family.
