About The Position

Big City Optical has an exciting new opportunity as a full-time floating Optometrist amongst their Downtown Chicago store locations! In this role, you will have access to advanced diagnostic technology, including digital exam lanes with meibography, topography, OCT, anterior segment photography, fundus photography, pachymetry, and VR visual fields to examine all your patients while practicing full scope optometry at the top of your license. At Big City Optical, we believe that an annual eye exam is the first step towards your patient achieving their best vision and eye health. Our Optometrists are at the center of this journey and are encouraged to educate patients on specialty services, such as dry eye, myopia control, and surgical co-management. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, excellent patient communication skills, interpersonal skills, and compassion for patient health and safety. In addition, the ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.

Requirements

  • Optometry license in the state of Illinois
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Patient-focused with a commitment to strong outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient care with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment
  • Provide comprehensive eye care (medical and routine) to patients of all ages
  • Educate patients on their visual and medical conditions
  • Make recommendations on vision and eye health enhancing solutions
  • Work with a support team of professional technicians and opticians
  • Complete electronic health records
  • Work in a team-based environment
