About The Position

A rare opportunity for an optometrist to launch and grow a new practice in a state-of-the-art wellness center in Kansas City, Missouri. This brand-new clinic has never had an Optometrist and offers a unique opportunity to build a patient base while enjoying modern equipment, strong staff support, and flexible models. Two Position Options Available: 1. Associate Optometrist (1099 Contractor): Full-time or part-time options available (Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm; no weekends) Manage an average daily patient volume of 14-16, with potential to see up to 18 patients per day Focus on comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and medical eye care Work alongside a dedicated on-site clinic team, including a technician, office manager, and reception staff Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment: Digital Phoropter, OCT/Fundus camera, Visual Field screening Serve employees of the wellness center and their families Support for new graduates, including guidance on credentialing and LLC setup Play a key role in building and marketing the clinic to attract new patients 2. Sublease Optometrist: Entrepreneurial role to run your own practice within the clinic space Initial 2-year commitment, with 12-month renewal terms thereafter Free rent for the first 6 months, then only $300/month Equipment and maintenance provided; minimal overhead Only required to supply personal office consumables (ink, paper, pens, dilation drops, etc.) All exam and contact lens fees, as well as medical billing, go directly to the optometrist Flexibility to hire another OD Tech support, office management, and reception provided Receive help navigating LLC formation and credentialing Not your traditional sublease: strong operational support and a collaborative onsite medical team What This Role Offers: Modern, fully equipped facility on a corporate campus No weekend or late hours (M–F, last patient at 3:45 pm) Family-friendly patient base (employees and their immediate family members) Opportunity to shape and grow a new clinic environment Ideal for new grads eager to build a practice or experienced ODs seeking autonomy Position available immediately, but we will wait for the right candidate This is an exceptional chance for an optometrist seeking either the stability of an associate role or the autonomy of a sublease to establish a thriving practice in a supportive, modern environment. Requirements

  • Valid state optometry license or in the process of obtaining
  • Fourth-year optometry students are invited to apply
