About The Position

This position is for a Dental Assistant within the Federal service, specifically targeting candidates who meet the qualifications outlined for various grade levels (GS-02 to GS-06). The role involves performing a variety of tasks related to dental care, including record-keeping, clinic maintenance, and assisting in patient treatment. Requirements

• Three months of general experience for GS-02 or a completed high school education.
• Six months of general experience for GS-03 or completion of a 1-year dental assistant program.
• Six months of general experience and six months of specialized experience for GS-04.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 for GS-05.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 for GS-06.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a dental hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association.
• Continuing education courses in expanded functions for dental assistants.

Responsibilities

• Perform record-keeping and clinic maintenance duties.
• Assist in preparing patients for treatment.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the dental station.
• Schedule and route patients for services as required.
• Prepare sterile trays and packs for dental procedures.
• Instruct patients in preventive dental care and demonstrate proper dental hygiene techniques.
