About The Position

Requirements

• Current unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Massachusetts.
• Current controlled substance certificate.
• Training appropriate to practice optometry.
• Excellent customer care skills.
• Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for quality eye care delivery.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Residency training preferred.
• Strong ocular disease background preferred.
• Interest in scleral lens is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive quality eye care to a broad range of patients.
• Examine eyes using observation, instruments, and pharmaceutical agents to determine visual acuity and diagnose diseases.
• Diagnose, manage, and treat conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic drugs for specific eye conditions.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aides.
• Analyze test results and develop treatment plans.
• Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care and visual hygiene.
