About The Position

The Optometric Assistant at Visionworks is a crucial role that serves as the first point of contact for patients in the exam practice. This position is dedicated to providing an exceptional patient experience by ensuring that all eye exam needs are met efficiently and effectively. The Optometric Assistant is knowledgeable about eye health, preliminary testing, and the products and services offered, facilitating a smooth transition for patients from the examination to the sales floor.

Requirements

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not necessary.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
• Licensed OD Techs must have and maintain a State Opticians License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce patients to the Optometrist and provide important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with necessary information to educate and recommend products and services.
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones.
• Open and close the store/office to support business as needed.
