About The Position

The Optometric Assistant at Visionworks serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience during their eye care journey. This role involves preliminary testing, maintaining patient records, and facilitating communication between patients and optometrists, all while supporting the operational needs of the store.

Requirements

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not necessary.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
• Licensed OD Techs must have and maintain a State Opticians License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with necessary information to educate and recommend products and services.
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones.
• Open and close the store/office to support business as needed.
