About The Position
JOB SUMMARY: Assisting clinic team to perform basic optometric work up; assist clinical team in patient care, basic equipment maintenance and quality control. REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent required, enrolled in or registered at an accredited college or university or entering college in the upcoming fall term. Hiring preference will be granted to qualified candidates. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform preliminary patient work up to assist in preparing patients for examination or treatment. Check patient’s corrected and uncorrected visual acuity for distance and near Tonometry Lensometry Auto-Refraction Corneal Pachymetry Check pupils Ocular Motility Performs confrontational visual field testing and basic automated visual field testing. Obtains, reviews, and verifies a basic past ocular, medical, family and social history. Obtains and documents a patient’s chief complaint and collects information for provider to complete history of present illness. Assisting clinical team by performing basic maintenance and quality control of exam rooms and ophthalmic equipment. #LI-MC1
