About The Position

Acacia Communications Inc., a leader in disruptive optical and coherent technology, is currently seeking a Device Verification Test (DVT) Engineer to design and run automated testing of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), assist development teams with design specifications, and improve production yields. Reporting into Acacia/Cisco Device Verification Test group, this engineer will work closely with our integrated silicon photonics, optical packaging, ASIC development, and the operations teams to deliver leading edge, high-yielding, high-throughput processes across Acacia/Cisco product line of optoelectronic components and modules.

Requirements

• PhD or MS in engineering or similar field with 5-10 years of relevant experience
• Solid lab skills
• Knowledge of optical communications, including PAM4 and coherent optical communications
• Experience with basic fiber optics components and test and measurement equipment
• Experience with high bandwidth RF, EO/OE testing
• Experience with client optics DSP, SerDes, and its testing
• Knowledge of software and test automation, especially based on Python
• Knowledge of DAC/ADC operations and controls
• Demonstrated problem solving, effective communication, documentation, planning skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with JMP or similar data analysis software
• C++, Matlab programming and VPI modelling experience
• International and domestic travel to support customer development and internal Cisco collaboration might be required

Responsibilities

• New product introduction - work closely with RF, silicon photonics, DSP, and module design teams to debug and bring-up new PICs and modules
• Develop test algorithms and calibration procedures
• Define and execute design verification test plans
• Be responsible for design verification documentation
• Support PIC level failure analysis and troubleshooting
