About The Position

As an Opto/Mechanical Technician at MKS, you will be responsible for the advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, laser radars and electro-optical sensors and instruments. Requirements

  • 0-2 years of related experience for Level 1
  • 2-3 years of related experience for Level 2
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • The ability to work in a clean room environment
  • Experience entering data numbers into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets templates
  • The ability to speak, read, and write in English

Responsibilities

  • Audit 1-2 work order kits from warehouse to confirm pieces and part numbers
  • Prepare subassembly components
  • Follow written procedures or drawings developed by engineers and suggest improvements to optimize production
  • Assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components
  • Test each level of assembly (4-5 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments (i.e. interferometer, Zygo, etc.)
  • Alignment, optimization, stability, transmission, etc.
  • Package the final assembly daily (if assembly is completed)
  • Cross training is required (trainee and/or trainer)
