Optimization Systems Analysis Intern
About The Position
AMA is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Systems Analysis Intern to join our team in Moffett Field, CA supporting NASA on the Aircraft Systems and Spaceflight Engineering Support Services (ASSESS) contract at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC). Work will be in support of the Systems Analysis Office at NASA ARC. Level of effort can be variable during the school year based on course schedule, but may ramp up to full-time during the summer. About the Projects: NASA ARC is seeking support for updating a parametric middle lift-to-drag (mid L/D) shape geometry software, Cobra, and integration to the OpenVSP geometry software as a custom component.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree (B.S, M.S or PhD) in Mechanical, Aerospace, or General Engineering degree; or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in python programing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- This position requires U.S. Citizenship.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with and knowledge of OpenVSP, Condor, or CBAERO is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the Cobra C++ OpenVSP custom component in a gradient optimization problem using CBAERO-adjoint solver within the NASA Ames Opensource Condor Optimization software.
