Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing production tasks and supporting the fabrication department. This role will work in tandem with other opticians to achieve department/company goals. Duties include cleaning, inspection, grinding, polishing, operating CNCs, blocking/deblocking. Primary Responsibilities: Major include the following activities: Perform quality inspections for incoming, in-process, and finished optics utilizing various optical, mechanical measuring devices/techniques and visual inspection techniques. Perform cleaning of optics at various stages of the process Perform production tasks in one or more of the following fabrication cells: Conventional grind/polish, Dicing/Shaping, Spindle Polish, CNC grind/polish, Aspheric Grind/Polish, or Centering Complete product work IAW traveler and standard work instructions. Ensure travelers, datasheets and all required documentation are filled out correctly. Communicate safety and process concerns to supervisor/management. Support other opticians and mentor optician trainees Performs other duties as assigned.
