About The Position

The Optical Sales Associate at Clarkson Eyecare is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while promoting and selling eyewear products. This role involves assisting patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensuring a positive patient experience, and supporting the medical needs of patients. The associate will work closely with optometrists and ophthalmologists to dispense glasses and contacts based on prescriptions, while also managing patient inquiries and maintaining inventory standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong customer service skills and excitement to learn and grow.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients.

Nice To Haves

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Management preferred.
• ABO and NCLE certifications preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Promote frames and lenses recommended by the doctor to meet patient needs.
• Adjust and repair glasses as necessary.
• Facilitate patient flow and verify medical and vision insurances.
• Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers.
• Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests.
• Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames.
• Educate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect accurate measurements for eyewear fitting.
• Maintain frame standards with cleaning and organization.
• Follow all protocols to keep frame inventory accurate.
