About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Optical Mechanical Repair Technician II to join our production team. In this role, you will perform complex technical functions related to the assembly, calibration, and troubleshooting of robotics, laser, UV optical, and other opto-mechanical systems. This position requires precision, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a cleanroom environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience in optical-mechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with optical properties and effects of lenses and mirrors is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, adjust, calibrate, and align optical-mechanical components and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair optical-mechanical systems and modules down to component level.
  • Diagnose issues with motion systems (X, Y, Z axis), focus, and pneumatic pressure; implement corrective actions.
  • Interpret and work from fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Analyze test data and verify equipment performance under operating conditions.
  • Use precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and feeler gauges.
  • Collaborate with engineers to clarify design details and resolve assembly challenges.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
