You will be the Optical Manufacturing Engineer for the Optical Components Center (OCC).   • Provide technical guidance and support to optical operators to ensure optimal performance in fabrication and metrology processes.
  • Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce process variability, lower cost, and improve yield.
  • Investigate root‑cause of failures/defects and implement corrective actions that drive continuous improvement.
  • Support non‑recurring engineering (NRE) efforts, including manufacturing test plans, readiness reviews, and tooling design for new product integration.
  • Review, plan, and insert capital equipment to ensure long‑term stability of the optical center.
  • Bachelor's with less than 2 years of experience OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college.
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design (CAD) and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience or basic training in at least one CAD software such as CREO, Solidworks, Siemens NX.
  • Experience or basic training in at least one programming language such as Python, Matlab or Excel VBA for use in data analysis.
  • This facility requires all candidates to be a US Citizen
  • Experience in on the floor manufacturing environments dealing with working machinery and operator process training.
  • Experience in optical manufacturing methods or metrology. Examples include grinding, polishing, ultraprecision diamond turning, interferometry, profilometry or CMMs.
