Requirements

3–5 years of leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment (optical lab experience preferred).
Strong technical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Proven ability to train, coach, and develop frontline associates.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Comfort working with performance metrics and operational data.
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead by example.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert for your department, developing deep knowledge of equipment operation, workflows, optics, quality standards, and the Lens Manufacturing System.
Ensure all Tech-1, Tech-2, and Tech-3 associates are fully trained on processes, tools, safety protocols, software, and equipment.
Drive department KPIs including productivity, on-time delivery, quality, and breakage in partnership with the Lab Manager.
Troubleshoot day-to-day operational challenges including mechanical issues, workflow bottlenecks, quality defects, and personnel concerns.
Lead and develop a high-performing team by creating a positive, accountable, and results-driven work environment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department that meets all safety and quality standards.
Communicate effectively with associates, managers, and cross-functional partners through clear, direct, and professional communication.
Conduct coaching, feedback, and corrective action conversations that support associate development and performance.
Continuously evaluate and improve department workflows through process improvement and operational innovation.
Take initiative to identify risks, remove roadblocks, and support other departments when needed to achieve broader business goals.
