The position involves supervising a technician group to support new product development, assisting designers in prototyping new products, testing alignment GUI, and testing software. The role also includes optimizing integration procedures and training operators, as well as evaluating technician performance. Daily duties encompass resource allocation for projects, monitoring project completion status, cleaning optical components under a microscope, setting up optical alignment stations, and manually handling, aligning, and installing diverse optical components. The technician will perform optical performance tests, apply and cure UV glues, inspect work according to quality specifications, and produce work that meets strict quality criteria. Additional responsibilities include performing incoming inspections, being cross-trained for upstream and downstream operations, loading and unloading alignment stations, entering numerical data correctly, and documenting suggestions for continuous improvement.
