Requirements

  • Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation
  • Requires 3 years of experience in the following:
  • Imaging optics for both photographic and computer vision applications
  • Both sequential and non-sequential optical design software (e.g. Zemax, Code V, LightTools, FRED and/or ASAP)
  • Image quality evaluation, imaging sensor operation and characterization, stray light modeling and analysis, camera module or lens testing and characterization, imaging and illumination optics design and manufacturing
  • Theoretical analysis using MATLAB, Python or similar programs
  • Statistical analysis using MATLAB

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Meta engineers on the next generation optical communication technology with a particular focus on the testing of optical modules and subsystems for Data Center applications.
  • Work in a collaborative environment across Meta teams including SW, Thermal, Mechanical, and EE.
  • Develop test and simulation methodologies relevant for next-generation, high-speed optical technologies.
  • Develop automation practices and solutions for lab testing.
  • Lead new optical communication NPI programs, working closely with optics vendors and ODMs.
  • Interface with the industry and contribute to the RFI/RFP process for optical solutions.
  • Communicate complex optical hardware requirements to non-experts both internally and to industry-facing stakeholders.
