About The Position

About Marvell Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities. At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead. Your Team, Your Impact The Optics team builds highly integrated component platforms with high speed Silicon photonics, transmit and receive amplifiers, controller ASIC’s with Marvell DSP’s. These components are made operational with a highly functional embedded firmware. The team is responsible for design, verification, and validation of these integrated high speed optical components. The team performs system level testing under various operating conditions, and validates the performance of the hardware, firmware and control loops. An engineer in this team will be responsible for all aspects of engineering design and transfer to production of advanced optics products for next-generation data center and AI market segments. What You Can Expect In this role you will be part of a development team that is responsible for all aspects of engineering design, process development, and productization for Marvell’s optics DCI product line. Contribute to optical component development and heterogeneous integration for next generation products and beyond. Implement creative solutions to accelerate next-gen photonics product development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams consisting of Digital and Analog Circuit designers, Signal/Power Integrity, and substrate layout, and system design team. Responsibility changes from time to time depending on the priority of the team and products. The person is expected to catch up with the new responsibility quickly and execute. What We're Looking For Master’s degree and/or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics or related fields with 5+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics or related fields and 10+ years of related professional experience. Excellent understanding of semiconductor physics and successful design experience of optical devices such as detectors, modulators and integrated optical components, especially high speed linear integrated components. Hands-on of optical and RF electrical modeling and simulation software to design electro-optical devices as well as EDA tools to make photonic IC layout. Hands-on optical device characterization including DC, RF and device control. Familiarity or direct experience of advanced electro-optic material and integration into Silicon photonics platform. Familiarity or direct experience in the standard Si/CMOS/MEMS process technologies required for fabrication and integration of electrical and optical devices. A proactive self-starter with an exceptional degree of confidence and commitment who does not require constant nudging to move programs forward or effectively complete their execution. Effective team player. Ability to work in an integrated, global team environment. Ability to work with a large body of data and the necessary statistical analysis tools, develop models to analyze the data and the ability to present the data and ideas to a diverse audience.
