The Optical Coating Support (Beadblast) Technician position provides critical support to the coating production team through various pre- and post-coating processes. Through On the Job Training (OJT), the Optical Coating Support (Beadblast) Technician will: Prepare vacuum coating machines for optical coating processes; Operate beadblast equipment in accordance with prescribed method in order to remove surface contaminants and impart proper surface finish. Clean and store metal fixtures in preparation for use in optical coating processes. Maintain adequate supply of bead in beadblasting equipment. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Perform a variety of other tasks following additional training and competency as required by position.
