About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Optical Calibration Engineer to join our team of talented optical engineers to play a crucial role in ensuring the precision and reliability of optical measurements. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the precision and accuracy of optical test instruments and systems through the development and application of meticulous calibration processes. This role requires extensive knowledge in optical engineering, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality test instruments to the silicon photonics market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics or related discipline; master’s degree is preferred; certifications in optical engineering are a plus.
  • 7+ years experience in optical principles, calibration techniques and industry standards.
  • Proven experience in optical calibration, preferably in semiconductor manufacturing and testing or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with various optical instruments and calibration standards used in telecom products (O-band to L-band).
  • Use of optical test systems for wafer probing of silicon photonics devices is preferred.
  • Development, use, and debug of optical active alignment systems is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new calibration techniques and improve existing methods for optical test instrumentation.
  • Execute and refine calibration procedures for various optical instruments, including lasers, optical power meters, polarizers, and cameras.
  • Analyze calibration data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas of improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of calibration strategy, tests, results, and corrective actions.
  • Implement and enforce quality assurance protocols to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to technical staff on proper calibration techniques and the use of optical instruments.
