Our Raytheon’s Texas Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center is seeking an Optical Assembler specializing in Alignment and Test to support our team 100% onsite in Richardson, Texas. This position is for 3rd shift.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years’ of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years mechanical/electrical assembly.
  • Minimum of 2 years optical assembly experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 years optics/mechanical/electrical assembly experience.
  • Clean room experience.
  • Good dexterity skills due to delicate handling of precision optical components.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and have overall good communication skills.
  • Familiar with Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to work independently within a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Assembly, Alignment, and Testing of electro-optical components using interferometers per Assembly Work Instructions, prints, or engineering instructions in or out of a clean room.
  • Complete all necessary written documentation as it applies to production routers.
  • Communicate with the area Group Leader or Value Stream Manager on the status of work in process.
  • Job requires standing and walking short distances up to 50% of the time, bending at the waist 5%, repetitive motions 5% and lifting, handling and / or carrying up to 27 lbs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • This position is 3rd Shift, but shift flexibility needed for training.
