About The Position

The OPS Toll Collector position at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection is a temporary, seasonal role responsible for providing visitor services and maintaining public relations at Ruth B. Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Basic arithmetic skills.

• Experience in operating point-of-sale systems and cash registers.

• Experience in plumbing and electrical maintenance.
• Familiarity with various types of lawn maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors at the park entrance and provide information about park activities.
• Collect fees for park entrance and annual passes.
• Operate point-of-sale cash register and accurately reconcile revenue collected.
• Complete reports and maintain organized workspace.
• Answer phones and operate radio equipment.
• Explain and interpret natural and cultural resources of the park to visitors.
• Resolve visitor complaints while maintaining good public relations.
• Clean facilities, restrooms, grounds, and equipment as needed.
• Use various hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
