About The Position

The Department of Physiology and Aging at the University of Florida is seeking a qualified, motivated individual to support the completion of preclinical research studies under the Principal Investigator's supervision. This position will work part time: 20 hrs/week. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing laboratory projects and work closely with faculty and staff in a collaborative research environment. Key responsibilities include: Assist with project planning, data collection, and data analysis for preclinical studies Perform routine laboratory administrative duties, including documentation and organization of experimental records Handle rodents, including housing, monitoring, and use of metabolic cages Prepare and perform biochemical and cellular assays, including flow cytometry Interact regularly with faculty, staff, and research team members to support study coordination and execution Maintain current certification in all required laboratory safety trainings

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • one year of appropriate experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a biological sciences field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel
  • IACUC or other research regulatory group experience
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff at multiple levels
  • Evidence of research experience in a preclinical setting
