Assist with greenhouse, field, and laboratory work to support the Citrus Plant Pathology Research and Extension program at the University of Florida-IFAS/Southwest Florida Research and Education Center in Immokalee. Greenhouse- and field-focused work will include assisting in field and greenhouse pesticide spray trials, involving the mixing, handling, and applying pesticides; setting up, maintaining, and monitoring trials; collecting, storing, and processing samples from field and greenhouse trials. The candidate will be responsible for plant maintenance, pest control, irrigation, and fertigation in the greenhouse. This job will require the following: Working under harsh conditions (such as heat and humidity) for prolonged periods of time Standing or walking for extended periods of time Lifting moderately heavy objects for extended periods of time Traveling to field sites distant from the research station once a week, which will require a valid driver's license
