The OPS NDT Lab Calibration Group Lead will coordinate inspection priorities across all business units supported, acting as the primary liaison with customer leaders to establish priorities based on business needs and scheduled deliverables. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to maintain daily priorities, resolve conflicts, and effectively coordinate with NDT leadership to ensure scheduled inspectors are supported. The role also involves maintaining data tracking for the department schedule, including metrics related to team response time and discrepancy metrics to customers, driving overall product and process improvement.

  • Lead, plan, and coordinate departmental projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and lead subordinate personnel to perform tests according to priorities, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure assigned personnel have necessary resources to complete tasks.
  • Assist the Supervisor with training, scheduling, and prioritizing manpower, and approving timekeeping.
  • Develop testing methods that support GAC Manufacturing, Service Center, NPD, and Experimental programs.
  • Communicate tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Contribute to the training and evaluation of employees.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure calibration for tests.
  • Maintain inventory control of area tooling and consumables.
  • Assist with duties in support of Customer aircraft.
  • Promote and track departmental continuous improvement objectives.
  • Interface with internal/external customers to respond to needs and provide results.
  • Ensure area safety and encourage technicians to develop safety improvements.
  • Support revision and development of area Standard Operating Procedures.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 8 years of technically related experience.
  • Five (5) years NDT Level II experience on Gulfstream aircraft supporting airworthiness decisions.
  • Five (5) years of Lab testing experience.
  • Five (5) years of Calibration experience.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading/interpretation, GAMPS, Mil-Specs, ASTM standards, Maintenance Manuals, shop mathematics, and QA system requirements.
  • ASQ certificate (American Society for Quality) preferred.
  • MAUS-V, Omni-scan, hardness testing experience preferred.
