OPS technician positions are available in Dr. Zhipeng Li's laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to support ongoing research projects studying cancer metabolism and ferroptosis. This is a new lab in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida, and there will be tremendous opportunities to learn and contribute to exciting research. We are a multi-disciplinary lab that utilizes various techniques (biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, microscopy, and imaging) in mammalian cell culture model systems. We strive to cultivate a collaborative lab environment that enables innovative and cutting-edge research. The position will involve performing routine experiments, contributing essential support functions, and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the lab. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking for research experience prior to applying to graduate school. Training opportunities for cutting-edge technologies in the lab include CRISPR (knockout, knock-in, a/i), high-throughput functional genomic and small molecule screens, and confocal microscopy.
