About The Position

The Bureau of Design and Construction (BDC) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Design Section to provide support to our dynamic design team. This position will schedule up to 40 hours per week. Provide assistance and support to the BDC Design Project Manager staff, including, but not limited to: Assisting with the planning and design of park infrastructure, including roadways, facilities, drainage structures, etc. Assisting with cost estimating; tracking, reporting and communication of project status and other details. Assisting with onsite project inspections. Preparing and reviewing change orders and other contractual documents for compliance and accuracy. Assisting with the review and processing of invoices in accordance with Finance and Accounting procedures. Maintaining project files in a neatly organized condition. Assisting with design tracking, reporting and other communication requirements. Participating in special projects and tasks. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Basic building construction.
  • Contract management and administration.
  • General administrative concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Architecture/engineering design, construction, production and/or operations.
  • The principles of land use, site planning and design.
  • 3+ years’ experience in professional design project management, engineering, construction, or related field.
