About The Position

Perform tests. Ensure records are documented correctly using electronic medical records. Perform physical appraisals and routine gynecology exams for women’s health, STD clients and other clinical services. Provide care in an outpatient setting for maternity clients with knowledge of medical management of medical complications during pregnancy and interpretation of antenatal testing such as non-stress tests. Initiate, interpret, and evaluate laboratory results. Prescribe medications following standards of care, including through Electronic Medical Records Perform colposcopies and establishes plan of care based on finding. Provide oversight to the Teen Clinic which provides contraceptive services to teenagers. Perform Family Planning services, including initiating inserting, and removal of long-acting reversible contraception such as but not limited to Nexplanon and Intrauterine Devices Serve as preceptor for mid-level practitioners to include physician assistants and nurse practitioners in master level programs. Ability to lift, carry, push or pull at least 20 lbs., stand and walk 1-3 hours, sit 5-8 hours, in addition to bend, reach, balance, and kneel. Ability to repetitively perform simple grasping, pushing, pulling, or use of fine manipulation skills. NO ON CALL RESPONSIBILITIES The successful applicant must be available to work at least 4 days per week and be able to work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Provider must be able to evaluate and treat patients in a public health setting involving the care of pregnant, family planning, and STD clients in addition to performing procedures that involve these areas.

Requirements

  • Current Florida or Multistate APRN/ Certified Nurse Midwife License, and FL driver’s license.

Evaluation of labs tests and treatment, insertion, and removal of long active reversible contraceptives, interpreting pregnant patients non-stress tests and treating medical complications of pregnancy, knowledge of sexually transmitted infections and current treatment guidelines. Provider will also have the knowledge and experience performing well woman exams and performing pap smears.
