About The Position

The Program Coordinator for Opportunity Grant, BFET, and Early Achievers at Skagit Valley College is responsible for supporting students during their enrollment in Workforce Grants programs. This role emphasizes a student-centered approach, assisting individuals who may be low-income, experiencing homelessness, or receiving benefits from DSHS. The coordinator will work closely with various staff members to ensure compliance with grant requirements and provide essential support services to students throughout their educational journey.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with multicultural and/or low-income students/clients.
  • Experience using Microsoft platforms to track information.
  • Experience assisting with projects and tracking mechanisms.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Services, Education, or related field.
  • Prior experience working in a community college environment, particularly Student Services.
  • Experience with ctcLink and TargetX systems, or similar CRM platform experience.
  • Bilingual - English & Spanish, English & Russian, or English & Ukrainian.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first contact for students to provide information regarding program policies and activities for BFET, Opportunity Grant, Early Achievers, and other Grant Programs.
  • Review applications for completion, schedule appointments for eligibility review and intake, and assist with Orientation sessions.
  • Assist students with Workforce Grants Applications and Program Consent Forms.
  • Compile program files to track and distribute to appropriate program coordinators.
  • Organize and maintain paper & electronic files in compliance with grant requirements.
  • Collect packages and mail as they come in, recording receipts and distributing them to staff.
  • Provide front desk coverage during office hours.
  • Create purchase orders for staff supplies as needed.
  • Assist in documenting student information and progress reporting in the DSHS eJAS system.
  • Assist in the preparing and compiling of program reports regarding program performance and enrollment.
  • Collaborate with staff to improve services to students and increase efficiencies in the department.
  • Provide support and referral to college supportive services and community agencies.
  • Collaborate with the Early Achievers Grant Specialist to support EAG enrollment and course offerings.
  • Support Early Achievers students through the enrollment process as well as ongoing support throughout their program.
  • Connect with local EAG provider sites and assist with outreach efforts.
  • Assist in providing information sessions when needed and requested.
